Barn Conversions in South Yorkshire & Beyond
Converting a barn into a home requires genuine craft the kind that comes from decades of working with traditional materials, understanding old structures, and knowing when to preserve and when to rebuild. At L+P Mullen, barn and agricultural building conversions are work we have done for many years, and work we are proud to put our name to.
"Their work is of a fantastic quality and high standard. We couldn't be more pleased with the result."
Mr & Mrs K Hoy - Barn Conversion, North Wheatley, RetfordWhat's Involved in a Barn Conversion?
Every barn conversion is different. Some require careful structural intervention to make an old building sound and watertight. Others involve sensitive planning negotiations with local conservation officers or the council's heritage team. We have experience with all of it working in South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, and the surrounding areas.
We manage the entire process: structural surveys, planning applications, building regulations, all trades, and final fit-out. You have one point of contact throughout Lee or Paul directly.
Planning Permission for Barn Conversions
Many agricultural buildings can be converted under Permitted Development rights or through a prior approval process. Where full planning permission is required, we have established relationships with local planners and architects across South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire to help navigate the process efficiently.
